Frequently Asked Questions
If I call, can you reserve items for me to pick up?
Yes! Some of our items sell out quickly in a day so you can give us a call to see what is still available and reserve a quantity for yourself.

We love to change our products up and try different flavors! We will do our best to accommodate request with enough notice!

Do you offer nut free products?
Any of our products that contain nuts is either presented visibly on the item or it is labeled with the type of nut in it. Our French Macaron are all made with almond flour.
We do our best to be careful of cross contamination with any nut products. If you plan to order from us and know of someone in your party that has a nut allergy, please make us aware at the time of the order so we can ensure to keep the order separate from any risk.
Your cupcakes are cold at pickup, and you suggest them to stay in the refrigerator until time to eat. Why is that?
We use real ingredients in all of our cupcakes and cakes. We use dairy and fruit in our fillings and frostings. Custom Cakes, Cupcakes, and other treats remain refrigerated to ensure you are getting a safe-to-eat product.
After pickup - we suggest that you allow your order to sit at room temperature (away from direct heat or sunlight) for about 30 minutes to 1 hour (depending on weather) to allow your cake/cupcakes to also come to room temperature! This way you will be enjoying your cake, filling and frosting at it’s best!
Do you ship your products?
Currently, we do not ship any of our products.
Cakes & Custom Orders
I don’t like super sweet, store bought-tasting frosting. How is your frosting made?
Our buttercream is made from scratch, to order. We use a traditional American style buttercream, which means that we use only real butter, sugar and vanilla in our basic buttercream frosting.
How much time in advance do you need to place an order?
We can generally accommodate small orders with 48 hours notice. Full size pies, cakes, or larger cupcakes orders can be filled generally with 72 hours notice.
Cakes (6” with no customization) can sometimes be made within 24 hours, however depending on the orders we have for that particular week, we sometimes have to cut off ordering.
Custom cakes, cookies, cake pops, cupcakes or larger store cakes should be ordered at least 10-14 days in advance. We highly suggest placing your order as soon as you know the details of your event to avoid disappointment.
I want to place an order for custom items. How should I start the order?
The best way to begin the order of a custom order is to fill out the Contact form or directly email us at sugardsweets.wnc@gmail.com and include all the details! Any inspiration photos you may have that you’d like us to reference are welcomed.
You can always text or call (828) 734-8430 to discuss your order!
If I have a photo of a cake that I love, can you replicate it?
We love when our customers are prepared with inspiration for their order however, every artist has their own style and skill so we prefer to use it as an inspiration rather than an exact replica. Generally we are also working with slightly different sizes and materials to fit the specifics of your order so we sometimes need to alter the design to better suit your event!
I want you to put a topper, figurine, or toy on my cake/cupcakes, can you do that?
Of course! If you have purchased items that you would like included on your order, please let us know when placing your order and we will arrange to meet as soon as possible so we are prepared.
If I want a specific image on my cake, can you print an edible image for it?
We can accommodate edible images on cakes! We just need a clear and sharp image.
Where can I see photos of custom orders you have done?
We try to update our Facebook page as often as possible with new photos of our custom orders so make sure to check that out first! Some of our photos are also here on our website in our Peep the Sweets tab!
Do you deliver?
We can deliver however we have a very limited schedule. The earlier we are aware of your delivery inquiry, the better the chances that we can fit it into our schedule. All of our deliveries have a specific fee dependent on the distance from our Bakery Stand in Canton.
I’m getting married and am interested in tasting your cakes. What should I do?
Head to our Contact tab where you can fill out a Request Form so we can get an idea of what you are looking for and set up a Tasting Box! The Tasting Box is picked from our flavor list and you have to option to choose a 6 count or 12 count.
If wedding services are booked, the cost of the Tasting Box is deducted from the total amount due.
Our Tips and Tricks for Safe Cake Travel
It is extremely important that you take extra caution when transporting cakes or delicate items! All of our product should be kept as flat as possible when transporting. If it is a shelf-stable item, it can be kept at room temperature but we suggest that our product be consumed within 24 hours of purchase to ensure you are getting the best quality. Any items that were refrigerated in our store should be refrigerated when you get to your destination, unless you will be consuming it within a couple of hours. All products should be displayed in cool area away from direct heat or sunlight.
Cakes should be held from the bottom and not by the sides of the box. They should be placed carefully on the passenger side floor of your car, or in the trunk of an SUV or hatchback, not the trunk of a sedan. Seats of cars are slanted and could potentially damage a cake. The car should be at a cool temperature. If it is hot outside, your car should have the a/c on high and if it is cold outside, the heat should be turned off for the entire time of travel. Cakes should be kept out of direct heat or sunlight for extended periods of time. If you will be serving your cake within a 3-hour window, we suggest that you leave it in a cool place to be displayed until the time of serving. If you will not be serving it for well over 3 hours, we suggest that you refrigerate it when you arrive at your destination.
Please drive cautiously and avoid braking too quickly or making sharp turns. We do our best to securely box your order for the easiest transport however some cakes, based on height and shape, cannot be fully covered. We always make sure we are supplying you with a cold and sturdy cake and will do our best to help you get it securely in your vehicle but once the cake is picked up, we are no longer responsible for it. To avoid any preventable mishaps please make yourself aware of these guidelines and ask questions if you are unsure of anything!
